Do you still remember me? I hope so ^^ + Giveaway Winners!!1 =D

Can you believe it? 2011 is coming to an end soon and I'm so glad because this year has been a bad one for me, can't wait to have a fresh start in 2012!! Hope all of you are enjoying your holiday and that you are all enjoying some yummmy food and tons of sleep! I know I have, finally catching up with some sleep =D

Soooo I know I have been super busy with school and had zero time to blog (blogging is so time consuming =P, I'm jealous of those who are able to blog quite often) which is why I'm super late in announcing the winners to my giveaway but I had to manually count the entries and enter it into an excel spreadsheet (there were 1550 entries and took me about 3 hrs =O). I also had to verify who actually followed the rules and was surprise to find that not everyone followed the simple rules that I had requested but instead of disqualifying some of you I simply awarded those who actually followed the rules with 2 extra entries. So I hope everyone's happy with that =].

So now for the winners........

Haul: Sept-Oct Glymm Boxes + brief thoughts on each item =]

Alrighty, I'm so far behind on these but you guys know why...school is abusing me! Anyways, I haven't been experimenting with these products yet because I literally have 15 min in the morning and I'm out of the house. So instead of giving a review of each product that I got in the Glymm Box like I usually do, I will just show you just what I got and briefly talking about the ones I did try at least once.

Don't know what a Glymm Box is? Find out on my August Glymm Box or go to glymm.com

Cute packaging as always with a greeting card and product descriptions.

Try these samples and buy them at Glymm's online boutique.
You can use the points you accumulate =]
You can also give your friends your referral link so that you can earn points!
Feel free to use my referral link but of course you don't have to! But if you do, let me know because the system is messed up and they have to manually add the points for you =S

This is was I see when I opened the wrappings! =D

Oscar De La Renta-Esprit d'Oscar
Nice floral scent, but I rarely change my perfume scent.
Dislike using perfume samples that do not come in a spritz bottle =[

What's going on here? The photo won't upload the way I want it. SORRY!
John Masters Organics-Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash and Milk
Love how these contains organic ingredients.
Dislike the scent =S
The wash does not foam, need a lot to wash the entire body =S

The body milk has a watery consistency, absorbs fast, non-sticky =]

Vasanti-Rockies Blush
Full size item, described as a coral colour but I think it's more of a baby pink.
Very pigmented (but swatch is washed out by camera flash, SORRY!)
It has a natural sheen to it finish =]
Love it!

They always include these cute jar of Jelly Belly!!
I got Grape and Coconut flavours =D

*Sorry this picture came out bad as well, don't know why Blogger won't let me upload it up right -_-*
This is an extra goodie that Glymm included, they don't usually include extra goodies like this but I was glad because this bag is big enough to carry my long handle brushes when I travel (I don't have a brush roll =[)

Overall impression on September's Glymm Box is good, most of the products were a fail for me but the blush and makeup bag made it up for me. I loveeeee BLUSHES!! some of you may already know ;)

Now onto...

The external box they use to ship Glymm Boxes have changed, if you refer back to my August Glymm Box, you can see that it used to be pink but this doesn't matter =P

Lise Watier-Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss in Melon Twist 71430
Full size product: Love this item because I wanted a read lippie. Although this is a "gloss" it actually looks like a lipstick because its super pigmented and glides on like butter but I need to apply a lipbalm underneath or else it feels a little bit dry!

Smells so good too! Like Sour Candy! ;)
Not a fan of the glitters thought, hard to wash off.
Packaged exactly like NYX jumbo pencils.

Principessa Bacio Lip Balm
Another full size item =]
Love the consistency. Very light, smooth and moisturizing also non-sticky and easy to wash off.
Contains Vitamin E and Shea Butter =]
Clear lip gloss, no colourings at all.

Caudalie Premier Cru Cream
Cute 2ml sample, size of my pinky =)
Light texture, moisturizing, leaves skin with a healthy glow/sheen =]
Light citrus scent mixed with floral not a fan of this smell =[

Blinc Mascara in BlackI've ALWAYSSSSSSSS wanted to try BLINC products! I want to try their peel-able liner! yep, it's peel-able so you don't need to wash it off with water nor makeup remover! How cool is that?!?!
I haven't tried this yet because I have too many mascara open right now and this mascara says it only last 6 months so I'll try this later =]
This sounds very interesting as well =] Its claims: Blinc water-resistant mascara that "tubes" around your lashes that cannot run, smudge, clump or flake. A combination of lots of warm water and gentle pressure will slide the tubes effortlessly into your hand.

See how pigmented the Lise Watier "gloss" is? It's soo weird how it feels like lipgloss but acts like a lipstick and smells like CANDY! Love it!

Jelly Belly!
Orange and Black for Halloween (don't know what flavour the black is probably licorice?
but it's nasty!! no more please!)

Overall, I was impressed with this box. I loved how there were so many makeup items in this box instead of skincare/nail polishes/hair products because Luxe Boxes takes care of that!
Did any of you get the GLymm Box? How do you like them so far? I hope you love them cuz I do!! It's like getting a Christmas/Birthday present every month! =D
Hope you guys enjoyed this longggggg post =] Talk to you guys on my next post!

Don't forget to join my mini giveaway!! Click the picture below to be redirected! =)

Have a goooooooooood weekend everyone =D

First Swap, with Taygan! =D

Super excited that Taygan from My BlOgSpOt *Montser Girl* agreed on doing a swap with me! She's one of my closest friends here on Blogger, we tweet each other almost every single day and it's usually endless chit-chatting. LOVE. She is so nice and don't to Earth, I suggest you all check her out and follower her blog for me, k? Please and thankkkkkkkkkkk you! =D

I was soo excited when I got my package, she even paid extra for express shipping which I thought she was super nice because she really didn't have to spend extra money on me. I so excited to receive my package 2 days after she shipped it out! We had a tiny spending budget of $20 but when you see what she got me, you know she OVERSPENT on me again!! I felt sooo bad that I didn't send her more!! But, I was happy when I unwrapped it to find everything I wanted! (I can finally cross out some of the items on the Wish List =P). Thank you Taygan!! =D

Here we go with the GOODIES =D

Nicely wrapped by the wonderful Taygan!
Love the cute card too!

My first Wet n Wild product ever! I love this colour in Nutty (shimmery brown) =D

Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in 125 Living Doll
I loveeee blushes, this is a frosty light pink =D

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in 018 Pink Sorbet
I wanted this ever since I saw it on "amarixe" from YouTube. I am soo glad Taygan got this for me, I can finally cross it out from my Wish List =D
This is a light pink/corally colour with a lovely sheen =D

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes in 630 Blackest Black with s BONUS eyeliner =]
I wanted to buy this combo when I saw it at Walmart but good thing I didn't because they jacked up the price here in Toronto compared to what Taygan told me the price she paid for it. So glad you got me this T! another item off my list ^^.

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon and Hard Candy Tinted Lip Balm in Bridal Blush
So far loving both of these!
Burt's Bee has amazing pigments!, Hard candy is quite moisturizing =D

Here are some sample swatches for the above items =]
Lighting is washing out a lot of the colours though =[

Cheeky Monkey Document in CM-P-108
This is one of the reason why Taygan and I did this swap. She got this nail polish in one of her Luxe Box and I got a metallic black in mine but I prefer lighter colour while she liked darker ones so I suggested that we should do a swap instead of just sending one nail polish =]. So glad to receive this pearly white, I can do french tips with this =D. Thank you again T! =D

YESto Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
Love this compacted makeup wipes that I can put in my tiny makeup train case! =D

Maynards Sour Patch Kids
Yummmy!!!! One of my favourite sour candy! Taygan got me a big bag too =D
This will last me for a while =]

Overview of all the things she got me^^.

Thank you again Taygan! I am very grateful and happy to have meet you on Blogger and I sure had tons of fun opening this swap (as you probably know from all the tweets I sent you while I was unwrapping everything =P).

Hope you all enjoy reading this, I always wanted to do swaps because I was A LOT of YouTube and I see swaps everywhere. Never thought I could have an opportunity to do one myself so I'm glad Taygan agreed on doing one with me =D

Also wanted to thank everyone who have entered my mini giveaway, you can still enter now, there's still a ton of time for you to enter because it ends on November 30th. Click picture to be redirected to that giveaway =].

Thanks for reading, hope you all have a wonderful weekend =D

DIY Convertible Dress

Hey girls!

Yesterday I made a convertible flowy dress that I plan to wear to a wedding party this coming up Saturday. Would love it if you girls can help me choose =]. Please and thank you =]

-These are some of the styles I can turn my dress into
-Pictures of the back just shows you how the back side of the picture to it's left looks like
-I'm leaning towards 1st row/1st picture, 2nd row/ 4th picture and 3rd row/5th picture

This dress took me 6 hrs straight with no break in between to finish  because I'm not a pro so I had to fix a lot of my mistakes along the way.

Ever since I saw a commercial last year where they showed an amazing convertible dress, that's when I started thinking that I can make my very own which is why I wanted a sewing machine for the longest time!
I started searching on YouTube for some tutorials but there were none!
This following video shows the dress that looks jsut like the one I saw on the commercial. This may or may not be the same brand/company:
*Video belongs to it's owner*

I loved the concept behind the dress in the first video but I didn't like how the bust area was so bare and so much cleavage was showing so I started experimenting this ONE video (credits to them) to see how I can make my own which has more coverage as well:
*Video belongs to it's owner*
I loved how this one comes with a tube top while the first video would only depend on the two long straps to help cover that area.

When I discovered these videos last year, I knew nothing about sewing so I had no idea how I can make a flowy dress so instead, I made a tight tube top convertible dress (shown below) which is so much simpler and quicker. Forgot how long it took me because I made this dress last year but I'm guessing around 3 hours max.

My first ever DIY Convertible dress
Only included a few style in the collage

To make this fitted dress:

1) I literally took some stretchy fabric
2) Made a rectangle dress
3) Measured where the bottom of my bust was
4) Then cut open a slit on the front layer of the rectangle dress
5) insert 2 longgggggg rectangle pieces, length of the two pieces where around the length from shoulder to knee
6) Then sew the seems.

Mistakes I made:

-Should have made an hourglass shape dress rather than a rectangle because now my waist area is a bit too loose
- Should have added an elastic band on the very top so it wouldn't slide off my bust
- Should have cut out more fabric for seem allowance, now my dress is too short
-Should have chosen a thinner and stretchier fabric

Let me know if you girls would like to see more close up pictures of my dress inside and out as well as an explanation of how I made my dress and I will try my best to illustrate that

-KEY POINTS to making a convertible dress are the material you choose and the two long straps you insert under the bust line
-all you really need is a thin and stretchy material like JERSEY KNIT
- cut two long rectangular strip to insert under the bust in order to make this dress CONVERTIBLE

Hope you enjoy this post, please let me know
which style from the BLUE convertible dress should I wear to the wedding party
on Saturday! Please and Thank you =]

Luxe Box by Loose Button: August Edition

Hey hey girlies :)

It's that time of the month again! Wonder what I got in my August Luxe Box? Keep reading to find out =]

Cheeky Monkey: Nail Polish (Full Size) - $15 for 15ml
*Not really my type of colour choice, prefer lighter/nudy colours
*Dislike polishes so I was disappointed to see ANOTHER polishes in our Luxe Box =[, oh well =P
*Cute packaging
*Suede like cap (cap has a similar texture to NARS products)
*This polish does not have a super strong nail polish smell which is good but the toxic smell is still there

Colour: Agiter Document (metallic black)

City Lips: Lip Plumping Treatment - $35 for 5ml
Dislike lip plumping products
*This type of products temporarily "plump" your lips due to IRRITATION which is why you usually experience tingly sensation on your lips. These irritants found in "lip plumping" products are causing inflammation in your lips which is why your it appears to be "plumper"
Proclaim: Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion (3 fl oz) - $8 for 32 fl. oz.
*Love the texture, leaves skin moisturized, not oily, not sticky, does not leave a sheen on your skin
*Hate the smell of this moisturizer. Very sweet and very chocolaty
*Will only use this if I'm going out so that the smell can diffuse better/faster and not linger around me for long

Calvin Klein: Forbidden Euphoria Rollerball Fragrance Sample (3ml) - $78 for 50ml
*Love how this is a rollerball
*Smell a bit too strong for my taste but it's doable
*Excited to try this more

Sheyna: Handmade Jewelery
Special Treat from Loose Button

*My jaws dropped when I saw this, it was so unusual to get jewelery in our Luxe Box
*Cute design
*Haven't worn this yet because I tend to get an allergic reaction to certain type of jeweleries

What do you girls think about this month's Luxe Box?
I personally wasn't that impressed at all, would much rather with the nail polish for the Pur pressed powder foundation that others got
Why can't they give samples like they used to? =[

Overview of things I got, all I see is the cute jar of JELLY BELLY!!!

Smashbox: Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in 24/7

OPI miniature: bloody red (no name found on the bottle)
FYI: I HATE RED polish!! lol I got 5 polishes so far from all my previous luxe/glymm boxes and 3/5 are RED! =[

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eye makeup PrimerI'm so happy I got this because I always wanted to try this primer! Yay!

MyFaceWorks I Need To Detox Facemasks
I don't believe a mask can help us detox because we need to detox from the inside-out but this is still a nice/fun full size sample to try =]

The cutest thing ever! Wish I got green instead =P

What do you guys think about Glymm Box? Do you prefer this over Luxe Box?
I used to loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Luxe Box but recently their samples has gotten worse each time it just didn't impress me enough. But again, everyone likes and prefer different things I'm just picky =P. I really hope they will provide more fun makeup samples on upcoming Luxe Boxes =]

Right now, I'm very impressed with Glymm Box because they reply to our emails quickly like on the same day or even 5 minutes after they received your email! Love how their website is set up, love their point system and their online shopping store. It is also cheap than Luxe Box!! However, samples appears smaller in the Glymm Box. I'll see how it goes for my next Glymm Box, super excited and loving the Jelly Belly!
