Luxe Box by Loose Button: January 2012 (Special edition? mmm)

I've been subscribed to Loose Button ever since they launched in 2011 and I must say it's been a roller-coaster ride with some amazing Luxe Boxes as well as some that weren't the best. If you tried searching my blog for old posts on all of the other Luxe Boxes I received then I have to apologize here because I was away from my blog near the end of 2011 that's why I wasn't able to update my blog as often as I would liked to. I believe the last box I blogged about still had the old packaging!! LOL. But I'm sure there are other bloggers and vloggers who kept you up to date =].

This month was quiet the surprise =]. The box it shipped in was gigantic compared to it's original!!

You can see from the above picture of the old Luxe Box in the brown box and the new one is in the black box. But the surprise for January's Luxe Box was that we actually got a second box in white! This explain why the box they were shipped in looked so much bigger than before. I believe the added box will only be for January's Luxe Box to celebrate the start of a new year =]

Anyways enough blabbing, let's see what I got in the original box first then go on with the additional white box =]

TA DA!!!.. I loved this month's box because of the CHLOE perfume!!!:)

 

The first thing I got was a full size Yves Rocher Rouge Dragee Lipstick in R102.
Full size: $5 for 3.5g
Received: Full size (value of $5)
The colour is a bright pink but not as fushia as shown on the picture in the corner left that was taken with flash.
Smells like a normal lipstick, no specific scent.
Sheer formula but pigmentation can be built up.
Matte to satin finish, depending on the lighting.
Smooth and moisturizing but still need to apply a lip balm beneath this.
So far I like this lipstick, I can lightly dab it on my lips and it just gives my lips a flush of colour kinda like NARS blush in Desire which looks extremely bright and intense but it gives your cheeks the most natural colour as if you're blushing from within.

This is my firsttttttt NYX e/s ever, can you believe it??? I've been wanting to try more NYX products but it's hard getting NYX here in Canada and the price are so much more expensive than in the States...boooooo =[ NYX Shadow in 84A Toffee Shimmer
Full size: $5 for 2.7g
Received: Full size (value of $5)This is a silvery/sparkly eyeshadow. It feels creamy when I swatched the shadow itself but it was hard to transfer the swatch on my hand because it was EXTREMELY POWDERY, yikes!!
Definitely need a primer and perhaps a cream shadow base because this Toffee Shimmer does not really have any pigmentation mostly shimmers.
Not 100% happy with this product because I hate having fall outs when I'm doing my eye makeup.
This also contains Talc, Mineral Oil and Paraben and I know a lot of people have a concern for those ingredients.
I do not recommend this specific shadow but I am still interested in trying their other formulas =]

Next thing I got was another product that I wanted to try for a long time but knowing myself that I hate using tons of hair product I refuse to buy the full size just to try it out so I'm glad to see this in my box ^^
CHI SILK INFUSIONFull size: $33 for 180ml
Received: 15ml (value of $2.75)
This is a leave in treatment free of alcohol and has been enriched with pure natural silk, wheat and soy proteins to protect your hair against heat from styling tools and environmental damages while leaving your hair shiny and silky.
This item came sealed which was amazing!!!! Because I received a JOICO hair oil in the past from Loose Button and it leaked all over my box because the bottle wasn't sealed =[. But I know it wasn't Loose Button's fault.
This is a clear oil with an extremely light perfumy scent.
Applied it to my hands and it was extremely moisturizing and it absorbed fast! At first it looks oily (see swatches; but after a few seconds you won't notice a thing! it's amazing!)
Can't wait to try this on my hair, been wanting a substitute to my KQC Shiny Heat Protecting Spray because it has a stronggg cologne scent and I just don't want my hair to smell like a man!!!

This is what got me excited! It's a miniature Chloe perfume!!

This perfume is described as a fresh, smooth, floral scent with a hint of powdery rose. I love this scent and a lot of my gf owns this perfume already. I loved it even more because of it's cute packaging but I can never spend so much money on a perfume when I still need to work on the ones I have sitting at home.
I knew my bff wanted to buy a Chloe perfume but she couldn't decide between the original Chloe Chloe and the Love, Chloe. One day I was shopping on sephora.com and saw this duo miniature of the 2 perfume that she wanted and immediately added into my shopping cart because it'll be an awesome way for my bff to try it out but I regret not buying 2 of these so I can keep one for myself because I saw how CUTEEEE these miniature were when they arrived in my mail. I wanted to buy it again too bad its available online only =[. A few months back I found that some people got this perfume in their luxe box and I was soo jealous of them cuz I didn't get one boooo, that's why I am extremely happy now that I have receive it! Don't you think it is sooo cute??? it's tiny but its sooo cute!! I love collecting miniature perfume bottles rather than full-size bottles ^^

Last thing I got which was a BONUS item was Seattle's Best Coffee in Level 3 which means that it is a balanced, smooth and full of flavoured coffee. There are total of 5 levels, the higher the levele the stronger/darker the coffee it is.
